Utsav: Phulia Cotton with Jute Pallu
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
Utsav is my name, for every festival that ever lit up a home. Count my stripes and you will find navy, crimson, rust and sand woven side by side like a festive procession. Across my body stretches a fiery orange, soft and airy in Phulia cotton. My pallu glows with bands of red and maroon around a canvas of textured jute, flecked with natural slubs. Wear me and let every day feel like a celebration.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A Phulia handloom cotton saree in a bright flame orange, light and breathable for everyday drape. A wide multicolour striped border in navy, crimson, rust and sand runs along the length. The pallu features bands of red and maroon framing a wide handwoven jute panel with natural slub texture. Finished with hand-twisted tassels in mixed hues.
Weaver
Days to make the saree
Every 100-count Phulia cotton saree takes around 8–12 days to complete. Fine cotton yarns demand patience at every stage—from preparing the warp to weaving each delicate pick by hand. What appears effortless when draped is the result of more than a week's work by artisans whose families have perfected this craft over generations.

Care Instructions
First Wash: Dry clean for the first wash to preserve the finish and the zari or resham border. Thereafter: Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling. Drying: Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to retain the richness of the colours. Ironing: Iron on a medium cotton setting while the saree is slightly damp, or use steam for the best finish. Storage: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. If the saree has a zari border, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and avoid storing it in plastic. Refold it occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
