From the looms, with love

Cloth with a conscience

A personal note from the founding team

We have spent decades in boardrooms, on flights and in markets across India. Building brands, telling stories and chasing numbers that never quite felt enough.

But some of the most honest conversations happened elsewhere. Not in conference rooms but in the narrow lanes of weaving towns across India. Bishnupur, Madanpura and many others whose names the world rarely hears. Sipping chai at a tapri, listening to stories that never make it to a showroom or marketing campaigns.

We realised we had a thing for the forgotten weaves of India. We sat with weavers who could produce something extraordinary. Cloth so beautiful it stops you mid-breath. And who were earning a fraction of what their work deserved, profit lost in the maze of middle-men.

We kept looking for sarees we could buy with a clean conscience. Handloom that was genuinely handwoven. Natural fibres with no plastic in sight or hidden. We found beautiful sarees. We found luxury sarees. But rarely did we find both craftsmanship and fairness in the same place. So we decided to make it.

WearKatha is that decision made real.

This is what we are changing

Somewhere in India right now, a weaver is at a loom. Their hands know things no machine can replicate. The tension of a thread, the rhythm of a shuttle, the quiet intelligence of a pattern passed down through generations. That knowledge is extraordinary. And for too long, it has been underpaid, overlooked and slowly disappearing.

WearKatha is a sustainable Indian fashion brand that brings authentic handloom cloth directly from the artisan to you. No middlemen, no plastic, no story left untold.

Made for keeps

We make clothes that outlast trends. Each piece is designed to soften, age and only get better. A wardrobe investment, not a throwaway

Safe on skin

No harsh dyes, no chemical finishes, no hidden synthetics. What touches you is clean, honest and traceable to its source.

THE WEAVER IS THE BRAND

At WearKatha, our weavers are not suppliers. They are co-creators. Skilled craftspeople whose heritage, technique and labour are the actual product. We work with them directly, cutting out every layer of middlemen that has historically kept their earnings small and their identity invisible.

Every artisan in our network receives a fair, transparent share of the profits from the pieces they make. When a WearKatha garment sells, the weaver who made it benefits directly. This is not charity. It is commerce done right.

"Their identity is not a footnote. It is the whole story."

WEAR THE STORY

Every WearKatha garment comes with a story tag. It tells you who wove your piece, where they are from and the heritage of the weave in your hands. We believe that knowing the story of your clothes changes how you wear them and how long you keep them.

Transparency is not a feature. At WearKatha, it is the whole point.

From the looms, with love. Cloth with a conscience, made for people who believe what they wear should mean something.
