Oodha: Reta Pett Border, Deep Purple Kanjeevaram
By Kanchipuram Master Weavers
Saree Story
I am purple the way dusk is purple, before it decides to become night. Across me, small gold mangoes hang still, each one a promise kept rather than a fruit picked. My border carries its own weight, gold rising against purple, thread meeting thread until neither remembers being apart. Peacocks walk that border in procession, gold on purple, unhurried the way peacocks always are. My pallu opens into a garden too dense to count, every inch given over to bloom. I was made the slow way, and it shows.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.

Silk rewards patience. Dry clean for the first wash. After that, cold water and a gentle hand. Never wring it, never rush it. Dry in the shade — silk and sunlight are not friends. Iron on the reverse, low heat, while it is still slightly damp.
