Nilotpala: 100 count Phulia Cotton
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
A blue lotus opening on a village pond gave my weaver the colour for my border. He kept my body the soft ivory of fresh milk and let wide bands of misty blue drift across my pallu. Along my edge, little fish swim beside star flowers in royal blue resham, framed by fine temple peaks. Cool and featherlight, I settle on the skin with gentle ease. I am grace that holds steady in every season.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A Phulia handloom cotton saree in soft ivory, light and breathable for timeless everyday drape. A royal blue border runs between twin resham bands of blue fish and star-flower motifs, edged with temple triangles. The pallu features a wide misty blue band with layered blue pinstripes across the ivory. Finished with hand-twisted tassels in ivory and blue. Gentle hand wash in cold water or dry clean.

Days to make the saree
Every 100-count Phulia cotton saree takes around 8–12 days to complete. Fine cotton yarns demand patience at every stage—from preparing the warp to weaving each delicate pick by hand. What appears effortless when draped is the result of more than a week's work by artisans whose families have perfected this craft over generations.

Care Instructions
First Wash: Dry clean for the first wash to preserve the finish and the zari or resham border. Thereafter: Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling. Drying: Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to retain the richness of the colours. Ironing: Iron on a medium cotton setting while the saree is slightly damp, or use steam for the best finish. Storage: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. If the saree has a zari border, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and avoid storing it in plastic. Refold it occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
