Haritha: Lightweight Silk Banarasi, Peacock Border
By Naushad Ji
Saree Story
I am Haritha, never needed a fancier word for what I am. My green sits deep and certain, thin gold pinstripes running through me like veins of something valuable no one's found yet. Small gold leaves rest across me, unhurried, the way something worth having doesn't rush to be noticed. My border opens into peacocks, gold on green, feathers spread wide because even the composed ones get to show off sometimes. Nobody ever called a forest heavy for being what it is. Some things are prized for being rare, I've always preferred being unmistakable.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
Haritha is a lightweight pure silk Banarasi in deep emerald green, her body striped with fine gold pinstripes and scattered with small gold leaf butis. Her border and pallu open into a striking peacock motif in gold, each bird rendered in full plume, giving the saree its most dramatic and distinctive moment of craft.

Silk rewards patience. Dry clean for the first wash. After that, cold water and a gentle hand. Never wring it, never rush it. Dry in the shade — silk and sunlight are not friends. Iron on the reverse, low heat, while it is still slightly damp.
