Saree Story

Grey-mauve is only the calm before me, waiting for the pallu to break into lightning. Black and yellow chevrons streak in bold zigzags, sharp as a bolt caught mid-strike. Small butis flicker across me, sparks scattered ahead of the storm. I am Damini, woven for the ones who carry their own storm.

Handloom Perfection

Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.

Description

An Assam handwoven cotton saree in grey-mauve. The pallu and border break into bold black-and-yellow chevron weaves, framed by a grey diamond trim and a black-yellow striped selvedge. Scattered black and yellow butis dot the body, closing in a mixed black and yellow tassel fringe.

Weaver

A Weavers Nest by Susant Ji works closely with weaving communities across Assam and the wider Northeast, sourcing textiles rooted in the region's culture and its natural fibres.Exists to keep old age techniques alive, rather than letting the craft's identity dissolve into a generic "handloom" label.

Care Instructions

Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling.
