Champa: Statement Phulia Cotton
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
Champa is my name, ivory petals with a glow of gold at the heart. A wide marigold border sweeps down one edge, while mustard paisleys trail through my body beside a fine black line. Phulia cotton keeps me soft and airy, a breath of freshness through the longest day. Little black paisleys dance along my other edge, and my pallu opens into bands of soft grey and fine stripes. Bright, fresh and full of sunshine, I brighten every room I enter.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A Phulia handloom cotton saree in a soft ivory, light and breathable for everyday drape. A wide marigold border with mustard paisleys runs along one edge, with rows of mustard paisleys and black and marigold stripes through the body and a black paisley border along the other edge. The pallu features bands of soft grey and fine stripes, finished with hand-twisted tassels in ivory and marigold. Equally charming at the workplace, a cultural evening or a festive get-together.
Weaver
Days to make the saree
Every 100-count Phulia cotton saree takes around 8–12 days to complete. Fine cotton yarns demand patience at every stage—from preparing the warp to weaving each delicate pick by hand. What appears effortless when draped is the result of more than a week's work by artisans whose families have perfected this craft over generations.

Care Instructions
First Wash: Dry clean for the first wash to preserve the finish and the zari or resham border. Thereafter: Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling. Drying: Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to retain the richness of the colours. Ironing: Iron on a medium cotton setting while the saree is slightly damp, or use steam for the best finish. Storage: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. If the saree has a zari border, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and avoid storing it in plastic. Refold it occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
