Sindoori: Statement Phulia Cotton
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
Sindoori is my name, the red that marks every auspicious beginning. Saffron florals march down my body in bold vertical bands, like marigold garlands strung for a celebration. Phulia cotton keeps me soft and airy, as easy to wear as it is joyful to see. My edges glow with saffron, and my pallu breaks into bands of orange and fine red stripes, bright as a festive bonfire. Drape me and every occasion becomes a ceremony.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A Phulia handloom cotton saree in a vibrant festive red, light and breathable for everyday drape. Bands of saffron floral motifs run through the body, with matching motif borders and a saffron edge along the length. The pallu features bands of orange and fine red stripes, finished with hand-twisted tassels in red and saffron. A joyful choice for weddings, pujas and festive gatherings.
Weaver
Days to make the saree
Every 100-count Phulia cotton saree takes around 8–12 days to complete. Fine cotton yarns demand patience at every stage—from preparing the warp to weaving each delicate pick by hand. What appears effortless when draped is the result of more than a week's work by artisans whose families have perfected this craft over generations.

Care Instructions
First Wash: Dry clean for the first wash to preserve the finish and the zari or resham border. Thereafter: Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling. Drying: Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to retain the richness of the colours. Ironing: Iron on a medium cotton setting while the saree is slightly damp, or use steam for the best finish. Storage: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. If the saree has a zari border, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and avoid storing it in plastic. Refold it occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
