Sharada: 100 count Phulia Cotton
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
I am Sharada. My body is the colour of unwritten pages, of morning before it decides what kind of day it will be. Then the magenta arrives, not as an interruption but as the thought that was always there, waiting to be said. My resham border carries floral vines and diamonds, the weaver's way of marking where quiet ends and colour begins. My hundred-count Phulia cotton keeps me light and unhurried, settling into the wearer like a quiet habit. I do not announce myself. I simply make everything around me look more considered.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
Sharada is an off-white Phulia cotton with a magenta pallu and a resham border carrying woven floral vines and diamond motifs in rani pink on a natural ground. The body is clean and unhurried, the kind of white that holds light rather than reflects it. Made in fine 100-count cotton from Phulia, she drapes softly and wears through the day without effort. The knotted fringe at the hem falls in natural and magenta, a quiet detail that ties her two worlds together.
Weaver
Days to make the saree
Every 100-count Phulia cotton saree takes around 8–12 days to complete. Fine cotton yarns demand patience at every stage—from preparing the warp to weaving each delicate pick by hand. What appears effortless when draped is the result of more than a week's work by artisans whose families have perfected this craft over generations.

Fabric
Crafted from fine 100-count cotton yarn, prized for its exceptional softness, airy drape and feather-light feel. The finer the count, the finer the yarn—creating a fabric that is breathable without feeling coarse, with a graceful fall that only improves with every wash.
Technique
Saree with Blouse Piece
This saree does not come with a blouse piece. We recommend pairing it with a sleeveless or short-sleeved blouse in magenta to echo the pallu or natural off-white to let the resham border carry the saree fully.
Care Instructions
First Wash: Dry clean for the first wash to preserve the finish and the zari or resham border. Thereafter: Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling. Drying: Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to retain the richness of the colours. Ironing: Iron on a medium cotton setting while the saree is slightly damp, or use steam for the best finish. Storage: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. If the saree has a zari border, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and avoid storing it in plastic. Refold it occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
