Sarika: 100 count Phulia Cotton
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
I am Sarika. I carry two colours that have no quarrel with each other, sage green on one side and teal on the other, the way a bird holds both forest and sky in a single flight. The dark border between them is not a boundary but a conversation, woven tight with geometric memory in navy and black. My hundred-count Phulia cotton keeps me unhurried and cool, settling into the wearer like a quiet habit. I ask for no occasion and no ceremony. I am simply what a good day feels like, folded into six yards.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
Sarika is a do-ranga Phulia cotton where sage green meets teal in a single drape, the two colours sitting beside each other with the ease of old companions. Between them runs a dark navy border carrying dense geometric motifs, dash patterns and diamonds woven close and fine. Made in 100-count cotton from Phulia, she is light, breathable and grows easier to wear with every wash. The twisted cord fringe at the hem falls in green, teal and black, tying every colour of the saree into one quiet ending.
Weaver
Days to make the saree
Every 100-count Phulia cotton saree takes around 8–12 days to complete. Fine cotton yarns demand patience at every stage—from preparing the warp to weaving each delicate pick by hand. What appears effortless when draped is the result of more than a week's work by artisans whose families have perfected this craft over generations.

Fabric
Crafted from fine 100-count cotton yarn, prized for its exceptional softness, airy drape and feather-light feel. The finer the count, the finer the yarn—creating a fabric that is breathable without feeling coarse, with a graceful fall that only improves with every wash.
Technique
Saree with Blouse Piece
This saree does not come with a blouse piece. We recommend pairing it with a sleeveless or short-sleeved blouse in teal to echo the pallu or deep navy to anchor the border for a more defined look.
Care Instructions
First Wash: Dry clean for the first wash to preserve the finish and the zari or resham border. Thereafter: Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling. Drying: Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to retain the richness of the colours. Ironing: Iron on a medium cotton setting while the saree is slightly damp, or use steam for the best finish. Storage: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. If the saree has a zari border, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and avoid storing it in plastic. Refold it occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
