Lilac and yellow stripes race down my border, a diamond trim keeping pace like laughter that won't slow down. Pink tassels crowd at my hem, tied close together the way friends stand for a photograph. Description
An Assam handwoven cotton saree in mauve-pink. Bold kalka motifs in magenta are woven across the pallu in facing rows, framed by red diamond-trim borders. Small buttis in pink and yellow are scattered through the body, with a matching kalka panel repeated at the border. A striped lilac and yellow selvedge with a diamond trim runs the length of the drape, finished with a dense pink tassel fringe.
