Pitambari: Kattam Kanjeevaram, Korvai Temple Gap Border
By Kanchipuram Master Weavers
Saree Story
They named me Pitambari, for the yellow that has always been worn by the divine, never plain, never ordinary. I begin the way sunlight begins, yellow and checked, small and exact until I decide to burst. My border does not stay quiet, temple motifs woven in the korvai style. My pallu turns to wine-purple, striped in gold and silver, a pause and a statement made at the same time. I hold two moods that should not agree and somehow do, morning and dusk woven into a single length of finest silk.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A pure Kanjeevaram silk saree in a bright yellow kattam (checked) weave, the fine black checks giving way to a bold temple-flame border woven directly into the canvas. The korvai-woven border and pallu shift into a deep wine-purple, striped in gold with a silver zari gap band, finishing in a rich purple tasselled edge.

Care Instructions
Silk rewards patience. Dry clean for the first wash. After that, cold water and a gentle hand. Never wring it, never rush it. Dry in the shade — silk and sunlight are not friends. Iron on the reverse, low heat, while it is still slightly damp.
