Neeli: 100 count Phulia Cotton
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
A kingfisher's wing flashing over the river lent me its colour. Across me, my weaver let little kalkas drift like white blossoms on still water. My pallu blooms larger, each kalka filled with tiny flowers framed by bands of fine white stripes. A soft silver-grey border runs beside me, cool as moonlight on the skin. I am calm, crisp and quietly celebratory.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A Phulia handloom cotton saree in a bright kingfisher blue, light and breathable for everyday elegance. The body is dotted with white resham kalka butis, paired with a plain silver-grey border. The pallu features large floral-filled kalkas between bands of white pinstripes. Finished with hand-knotted lattice tassels in blue and white. Gentle hand wash in cold water or dry clean.

Days to make the saree
Every 100-count Phulia cotton saree takes around 8–12 days to complete. Fine cotton yarns demand patience at every stage—from preparing the warp to weaving each delicate pick by hand. What appears effortless when draped is the result of more than a week's work by artisans whose families have perfected this craft over generations.

Care Instructions
First Wash: Dry clean for the first wash to preserve the finish and the zari or resham border. Thereafter: Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling. Drying: Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to retain the richness of the colours. Ironing: Iron on a medium cotton setting while the saree is slightly damp, or use steam for the best finish. Storage: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. If the saree has a zari border, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and avoid storing it in plastic. Refold it occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
