Narangi: Phulia Cotton with Jute Pallu
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
Narangi is my name, sweet and warm as the first tangerine of winter. Hold me to the light and fine lines of jute run through me like quiet seams of gold. Phulia gave me my lightness, so I drape like a breath and stay soft on the skin all day. My pallu carries a wide band of handwoven jute, its slubs left exactly as the yarn intended. Wear me and carry a little of the sunset wherever you go.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A Phulia handloom cotton saree in a rich burnt orange, light and breathable for everyday drape. The body carries bands of fine jute pinstripes, framed by a natural jute border. The pallu features a wide handwoven jute band with natural slub texture. Finished with hand-twisted tassels in burnt orange.
Weaver
Days to make the saree
Every 100-count Phulia cotton saree takes around 8–12 days to complete. Fine cotton yarns demand patience at every stage—from preparing the warp to weaving each delicate pick by hand. What appears effortless when draped is the result of more than a week's work by artisans whose families have perfected this craft over generations.

Fabric
Crafted from fine 100-count cotton yarn, prized for its exceptional softness, airy drape and feather-light feel. The finer the count, the finer the yarn—creating a fabric that is breathable without feeling coarse, with a graceful fall that only improves with every wash.

Care Instructions
First Wash: Dry clean for the first wash to preserve the finish and the zari or resham border. Thereafter: Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling. Drying: Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to retain the richness of the colours. Ironing: Iron on a medium cotton setting while the saree is slightly damp, or use steam for the best finish. Storage: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. If the saree has a zari border, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and avoid storing it in plastic. Refold it occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
