Mauve-brown stays still till the pallu breaks into magenta, kalka after kalka opening like a blossom that took its time. A yellow buti rests quiet, waiting its turn. Tassels crowd pink at my hem. I am Kusum, woven for the ones who bloom in their own season.

Description

An Assam handwoven cotton saree in mauve-brown. The pallu carries pink kalka motifs and dense floral panels in magenta, framed by red bands and a pink-yellow striped border with a diamond trim. Scattered yellow butis dot the body, closing in a magenta-pink tassel fringe.
