Jharna: 100 count Phulia with Statement Border
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
Blue is my canvas, cool and clear as water tumbling over stone. Columns of tiny white motifs fall down my length like streams catching the light. Beside them, tone-on-tone blue motifs flow softly, there for those who look closer. Two shades of blue meet across me like the calm pool and the rushing fall. Fine checks run through the deeper blue, crisp as ripples on the surface. I am Jharna, and I bring the freshness of falling water with every step.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A handwoven Phulia cotton saree in two shades of blue, from soft grey blue to a deeper bright blue. Vertical columns of small woven motifs in white and tone-on-tone blue run the length of the saree. Fine white checks trace through the deeper blue section. A slim blue border frames the edge. Hand-finished pom-pom tassels in periwinkle add a playful touch. Woven in fine Phulia cotton, she drapes softly and breathes through the day.
Weaver
Days to make the saree
Every 100-count Phulia cotton saree takes around 8–12 days to complete. Fine cotton yarns demand patience at every stage—from preparing the warp to weaving each delicate pick by hand. What appears effortless when draped is the result of more than a week's work by artisans whose families have perfected this craft over generations.

Care Instructions
First Wash: Dry clean for the first wash to preserve the finish and the zari or resham border. Thereafter: Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling. Drying: Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to retain the richness of the colours. Ironing: Iron on a medium cotton setting while the saree is slightly damp, or use steam for the best finish. Storage: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. If the saree has a zari border, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and avoid storing it in plastic. Refold it occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
