Aruna: 100 count Phulia with Statement Border
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
I am Aruna. I arrive in red the way the sun does, without hesitation and without apology. Fine black stripes cross my body in quiet rhythm, the only stillness in a saree that is otherwise entirely alive. My pallu deepens into black and my resham border carries stars and geometry that the weaver has returned to all his life. My hundred-count Phulia cotton keeps me light through long days, settling into the wearer like a quiet habit. I am not a saree that waits to be noticed. I simply show up and the room adjusts.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
Aruna is a vivid red Phulia cotton with fine black stripes that run across the body in thin rhythmic lines, measured and precise. The pallu arrives in deep black, wide and grounding, framed by a resham border carrying layered rows of star florals and geometric motifs in red and black woven close and fine. Made in fine 100-count cotton from Phulia, she is warm and confident and entirely at ease with herself. The twisted fringe at the hem falls in red and black, holding both ends of her story together.
Weaver
Days to make the saree
Every 100-count Phulia cotton saree takes around 8–12 days to complete. Fine cotton yarns demand patience at every stage—from preparing the warp to weaving each delicate pick by hand. What appears effortless when draped is the result of more than a week's work by artisans whose families have perfected this craft over generations.

Care Instructions
First Wash: Dry clean for the first wash to preserve the finish and the zari or resham border. Thereafter: Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid soaking for long periods. Do Not: Use bleach, harsh detergents, or wring the saree aggressively, as fine-count cotton fibres deserve gentle handling. Drying: Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to retain the richness of the colours. Ironing: Iron on a medium cotton setting while the saree is slightly damp, or use steam for the best finish. Storage: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. If the saree has a zari border, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and avoid storing it in plastic. Refold it occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
