Anaar: Deep Maroon Kanjeevaram with Korvai Gap Border
By Kanchipuram Master Weavers
Saree Story
I am Anaar, for the fruit that holds its colour inside hundreds of small seeds, each one a little different, all of them the same deep red. I wear that same restraint, maroon the way old wood is maroon, earned rather than applied. Small gold motifs rest quietly across me, unhurried, spaced the way memory spaces its own moments, never crowding, never in a hurry to be noticed. At my border I split myself in two lines of peacocks separated by a clear pause, the way a good frame holds two different thoughts all at once. My pallu is where I stop being careful, a garden gridded into gold. Look at me once, and you can never let go, much like the fruit I am named after.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A pure Kanjeevaram silk saree in a deep maroon, scattered with gold zari buttis. A narrow gap separates the canvas from a black border, worked in a korvai gap style, carrying a peacock and lotus-leaf band. The pallu opens into a dense floral grid in gold zari, framed by the same black tone with a paisley and peacock border.

Care Instructions
Silk rewards patience. Dry clean for the first wash. After that, cold water and a gentle hand. Never wring it, never rush it. Dry in the shade — silk and sunlight are not friends. Iron on the reverse, low heat, while it is still slightly damp.
