Samragni: Pure Silk Black Chanderi
By Chanderi Master Weavers
Saree Story
I wear the blue of a clear, transparent ocean floor, the kind of blue you can see straight through to the sand beneath. Small gold tulips rise across my body, each held by a stem of deep navy, opening the way flowers might for a procession. They gather closer together as they near my border, as if drawn toward the gold. My colour turns soft and golden-green where the light catches my weave, the way shallow water shifts over a shifting seabed. My border runs wide in gold, marked off by three fine stripes where it meets my body. I was woven for the person who carries her own procession with her, wherever she walks.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
