Kanaka: Kattam Silk Cotton Kanjeevaram
By Late Veeraraghavan Ji's Sons
Saree Story
Unfold me in daylight and I look like poured gold, no pattern announces itself until you tilt me and the check grid catches the light at an angle. I carry more zari than most sarees dare to, woven so densely that my base colour barely shows through, just glints of rust and copper peeking through the gold like something underneath trying to surface. My pallu deepens further, rows of arrows, circles and diamonds marching across in bands, each one catching light at a slightly different pitch so the whole length seems to move even when it is still. I am not a saree that whispers, I was woven to hold a room the moment the light finds me.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A SICO pure handloom Kanjeevaram woven so heavily in zari that the saree reads as a single sheet of shimmering gold from a distance, with a fine check running through the body and a deeper mustard pallu carrying rows of geometric and chevron motifs. The silk-cotton blend gives it a firm, structured drape with a soft sheen, while the dense zari catches light differently with every fold and movement, giving the saree a liquid, molten quality rather than a flat shine. Built for the occasions that ask for maximalism, weddings, festive pujas, evenings where you want to be the one people remember.
