Bandana: Ivory Matka Silk Jamdani
By Phulia's Padma Shri Cluster
Saree Story
My name means an offering, a hymn said with folded hands, and I understood it the moment I saw my own border. Most of me stays plain, ivory and unbothered, a stray flower here, another there, nothing insisting on being seen. But where it counts, at my edges, I hold nothing back. Every colour I own gathers there, mauve beside blue beside gold, the way devotion gathers before it's offered. Call me Bandana.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
Bandana carries her ivory the way a quiet room carries an offering placed at its centre, plain everywhere else, deliberate in the one place that matters. Across her body, single blossoms in gold and blue appear now and then, unhurried, almost like an afterthought. But her border tells the real story, a full vine in mauve, blue, mustard and green, rich and layered, the kind of detail you'd expect from something meant as a tribute. Pure matka silk, spun from pierced mulberry cocoons rather than reeled thread, which is why she carries that slight, honest slub across her surface instead of a polished shine. No pretence to be smoother than who she is. She holds texture the way raw things do, with the kind of body that keeps each petal exactly where it was placed. One garment. Two authors.

Care Instructions
Silk rewards patience. Dry clean for the first wash. After that, cold water and a gentle hand. Never wring it, never rush it. Dry in the shade — silk and sunlight are not friends. Iron on the reverse, low heat, while it is still slightly damp.
