Ranjana: Pure Katan Rangkat Benarasi
By Nurul Ji
Saree Story
They call me Ranjana because I never settled for one colour when I could hold three. Crimson opens my body first, bold and certain, then magenta leans in close and purple follows without asking permission. A weaver in Banaras wove me stripe by stripe, katan silk warp holding each shade in its place with nothing but a thread of gold between them. My pallu turns quieter but no less sure of itself, deep purple gathered into a field of small gold rosettes that catch the light one at a time. I am not a saree that blends in, I am one that decides the room's mood the moment I enter it. Wear me and you will understand why I never learned to be just one colour.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
A pure katan silk Banarasi saree in a rangkat weave, where bands of crimson, red and deep purple sit side by side across the body, each held apart by a fine line of gold. The border runs a continuous crimson and gold floral vine along both edges. The pallu opens into a dense jaal of woven rosettes in gold and silver on a deep purple field, a signature of fine Banarasi katan work, with the blouse piece woven to match.

Care Instructions
Silk rewards patience. Dry clean for the first wash. After that, cold water and a gentle hand. Never wring it, never rush it. Dry in the shade — silk and sunlight are not friends. Iron on the reverse, low heat, while it is still slightly damp.
