Neelambari: Minakari Peacock Teal Swarnachuri
By Bishnupur's Master Weavers
Saree Story
Peacocks don't ask to be looked at. They simply are. I hold that exact blue-green in my silk, the one that lives only on a peacock's neck and nowhere else in nature quite the same way. Gold moves through me like something celestial that wandered in and decided to stay. Pure Katan, handwoven, patient in a way machines never learn to be. Call me Neelambari. I was made from a colour nature only got right once.
Handloom Perfection
Handloom sarees are made by human hands, not machines. Which means every piece carries the natural variations of the loom and the weaver, proof that someone, somewhere, made this just for you.
Description
There is a blue that belongs to peacock feathers and Bishnupur silk. The colour has a specific quality, it is the blue-green of a peacock's neck, not just teal. This saree lives in that colour. Across the body, celestial figures float in gold against the teal ground, each butti placed with the patience that only a hand loom allows. At the border, a full court moves in procession, elephants adorned for ceremony, figures from a world where myth and silk were the same language. Katan silk does not need to announce itself. On the body it settles quietly, moves with you and catches light the way only a pure weave can. This is a saree that earns its occasion. Sourced directly from the looms of Bishnupur, Bankura. No middlemen, no blends, no shortcuts. Only the cloth and the hands that made it. One garment. Two authors.

Care Instructions
Silk rewards patience. Dry clean for the first wash. After that, cold water and a gentle hand. Never wring it, never rush it. Dry in the shade — silk and sunlight are not friends. Iron on the reverse, low heat, while it is still slightly damp.
